Father's funeral was rather long. I've never shaken so many hands in a day before and I'm afraid it calls for getting my nails done over again. I've extended this to someone already and I'm not sure if he'll be taking me up on it, so I open it to the general public. I've moved into my inherited Manor, so that leaves my flat.. all paid for until the end of the year, needing someone to live in it. Seem a shame to let it go to waste.
I'd want clean, well meaning individuals to inhabit the space, let me know if you would care for more information.
Tomorrow, I'm going to go see this little Apothecary by Thames that seems to be doing well. Hopefully we can help them do better with a little help.

Father is getting worse now.
Astoria, have you talked to him recently? He keeps asking for you and Scorpius.

My journal has an awful defect. It won't let me hex anything private anymore! It's just not taking any of my spells and it's driving me absolutely mad! I'll have you all know that I spent nearly fifteen galleons on this rubbish and it won't even properly respond to a charm! I'm throwing it out the window RIGHT NOW. UGH!
Well. It apparently has a hovering charm and a brake charm for just such occasions. I'm ever so glad because, on second thought, I'm sure this can be fixed easily enough. I'll just take it to a bookstore or something to get it replaced if I can't fix it.
Now, where did my guide to domestic charms go??

Daddy has gotten ill with a horrid case of something or the other in his lungs. He's always been a heavy smoker of flavored tobacco and now I'm afraid it's gotten to him at last. I suppose it is quite odd how this thing is working it's way through his body. I've never heard of it before but it was a muggleborn Healer that figured it out. He calls it cancer, like the constellation. He says it's when a person's cell's start to go through something called mitosis and they do it all wrong and end up making too much of themselves in a place where they ought not be and they hurt other cells if they are benign.
Daddy's lungs have this and they think it may be why his magic has been acting all sorts of funny. The healers are working on a type of potion that should regulate this mitosis business and get Daddy better again. I don't like him sick, he's got to much time on his hands to hassle the house-elves and Mother.
In other news, I was speaking to a Mr. Hooper about muggle technology and I decided I might as well mention it here that it is my intentions to pursue a new department of Greengrass Greenhouses that could be for a whole new market of magical muggle technology. It's an interesting idea and I'm only thinking of it and have yet to make anything set in stone.
I wish Astoria would stop being so busy so that we could go shopping together. I hate shopping by myself, it's awfully boring. I'm afraid I will have to make a trip to Honeydukes soon, though. I've got a very low stash of droobles that needs replenishing. If anyone would like to accompany me there, I'd really appreciate it.

What a horrible day to begin a journal such as this. My condolences to the family and friends of Justin. He was actually one of my favorites to see at Madame Malkins. He had quite an eye for fashion, really.
I haven't much time to say anything else as I ought to be working on our new year balances for the Hospital Greenhouses. However, I did wish to express that I am feeling these journals will be useful in quality control. I hope that my employees will use their journals to contact me if they should have a need to do so. A more proper introductory entry will be made this evening, I should hope.
